Flying Trapeze Lessons & Classes in Orlando

Flying trapeze is the circus act everyone pictures — soaring off a platform, swinging high above a net, and letting go to be caught mid-air. At Orlando Circus School you don’t just watch it, you do it. Our flying trapeze classes and lessons in Orlando welcome complete beginners and returning flyers alike, in small groups where a coach is with you every swing. Whether you want a one-time bucket-list flight or you’re chasing the addiction of nailing your first catch, this is where Orlando learns to fly.

Safety – A Real Net, Harness & a Real Catcher

Flying trapeze looks daring, and it’s also one of the most carefully rigged activities you can try. You fly over a full safety net, clipped into a harness with safety lines held by a coach from the moment you’re on the ladder until both feet are back on the ground – you physically can’t fall. You’ll even learn to land safely in the net, which works like a trampoline. When you’re ready for the catch, a real catcher swings from a second bar and catches you arm-to-arm. Every class is run by professional circus coaches with 20+ years of experience, including 10 years with Cirque du Soleil.

Meet Your Coaches

When you fly at Orlando Circus School, you’re in the hands of some of the most experienced circus professionals in the country. Founded in 2008 by Andrei and Irina Roublev, the school is led by owners Victor Bryndine and Pavel Roublev, who bring 20+ years in professional circus and live entertainment – including 10 years with Cirque du Soleil – and degrees from the Moscow State University of Physical Culture and Sport. That experience is exactly what you want holding your safety lines and calling your first catch.

Flying Trapeze for Kids, Beginners & Adults (Ages 6 and Up)

Flying trapeze is for almost everyone. We welcome flyers ages 6 and up, all the way through adults – and kids and grown-ups regularly fly side by side in the same class. Beginners are the rule here, not the exception, and every flyer is harnessed, on safety lines, and coached the whole time. It’s a favorite for families, first dates, birthday parties, and anyone with “fly on a trapeze” on their bucket list.

Your First Flight – What to Expect – No Experience Needed

Never done anything like this? Perfect – that’s most of the people who walk in. Here’s how a first class goes:

  • Ground school. Learn the basic take-off and simple commands on a low practice bar, feet on the ground.
  • Your first swing. Harnessed and clipped to safety lines, you climb the ladder, leave the platform, and swing – the moment everyone remembers forever.
  • Hang by your knees. Once you’ve got the swing, you learn to hang from your knees, hands free.
  • Tricks and the catch. As you progress, you add tricks and work toward a real mid-air catch with a live catcher.

Flying trapeze is about timing, not strength — you just need to show up and trust the count.

“An amazing place to learn different aerial arts. My husband and I took the trapeze class and had a great time. (He was way better than I was) The teachers really helped explain things and it was impressive to see how much work goes into the different moves. Certainly worth trying a class!”

You can’t fall to the ground. Your safety lines catch you the instant you let go and lower you gently, and there’s a large net beneath you the whole time – you’ll even learn to land safely in the net, which works like a trampoline.
